Nevada REALTORS® statement on eviction moratorium ending July 31
Nevada REALTORS® (NVR) issued the following statement today from 2021 NVR President Brad Spires in response to questions about the July 31 expiration of the federal eviction moratorium:
“On behalf of Nevada’s mom and pop landlords and tenants, Nevada REALTORS® anticipate that the high number of mediated repayment agreements, coupled with tenant and landlord relief programs, will result in a minimum number of tenants being evicted from single-family homes.
“Through the efforts ofNevada REALTORS®and stakeholders such as Gov. Steve Sisolak’s office and the Legislature, many resources are available to help tenants pay rent. With the economy opening up, it’s time for local landlords, many of whom also suffered income loss and hardship, to receive much-needed relief from these restrictions.Property owners in Nevada have been working with their tenants for more than a year and a half to try and keep them in their homes.
“Our association continues to work with state and local officials as they implement government programs designed to protect both tenants and Nevada’s mom and pop landlords.”
